(858) El Diezar ( lat. El Djezair ) is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt belonging to the spectral class S. The asteroid was discovered on May 26, 1916 by the French astronomer in the Algiers Observatory and is named after the city of Algeria, in the suburbs of which located observatory. El Jezair - the French spelling of the Arabic name of Algeria [1] .
