History
A wooden church on this site was built in 1165. The construction of the stone church, according to the annals, dates from 1365. The builders were Ugra residents - those who were associated with Ugra (at that time the Northern Urals). In 1734 the building was completely rebuilt: the plan was preserved, the location of the entrances, the walls to a height of 1.5-2 m was preserved, the material of the XIV century was partially used, but the forms were changed. In 1830, the main volume was rebuilt again, a stone porch, a refectory and a bell tower were added (before that they were built in a tree at the end of the 18th century). In 1975-1979 about the leadership of L. Ye. Krasnorechiev, the temple was investigated and restored as of the 18th century, the remains of the 14th-century church in the interior are uncovered and preserved. The building houses a workshop of artists-restorers [1] .
Architecture
The temple is medium-sized, single-headed. After the reconstruction of the XVIII century, the walls are richly decorated, with shoulder blades on the walls and the drum, the coating of the main volume is eight-slope. The church is characterized by a low apse, baptized pillars, a tiled decor of a drum, angular arches of an original design, an abundance of voices in sails and a drum. The church of the XIV century was a four-pillar, without narthexes, with two lowered apse besides the central one, had a three-bladed completion, was decorated weakly, had no shoulder blades on the facades [1] .
