Harvard Papers in Botany is a peer - reviewed scientific journal published twice a year, in June and December. It covers all aspects of plant and mushroom research, including longer monographs, floristry , economic botany, and the history of botany .

Harvard Papers in Botany was founded in 1989 to combine the following journals published by Harvard University Herbarium:
- Botanical Museum leaflets , Harvard University (volumes 1–30, 1932–1986)
- Periodicals from Farlow Herbarium of Cryptogamous Botany (Nos. 1–19, 1969–1987)
- Harvard University Herbarium Contribution
- Farlowia: The Journal of Cryptogamous Botany [2]
Starting at # 8, Harvard Papers in Botany also includes the following magazines:
- Journal of the Arnold Arboretum (Volumes 1–71, 1920–1990)
