Biography
Born February 21, 1921 in a family of teachers in the Smolensk region. In 1939, drafted into the Red Army. Member of World War II. In 1942 - chief of intelligence in the partisan regiment of them. S. Lazo. In 1943 - the organizer and commander of the partisan detachment "For the Homeland" in the Mogilev region. He was seriously injured.
Since 1944 - student of the Air Force Engineering Academy. N.E. Zhukovsky. At the end of which he worked in KB-1 (NPO Almaz), from 1953 to 1963 he was deputy chief designer of the country's first anti-aircraft missile system S-25 air defense in Moscow. From 1963 to 1968, being the director - scientific director of NII-37 (now NIIDAR), he supervised the creation of the first domestic early warning stations of the ICBMs “Danube-3”, “Danube-3U” and radar systems for the horizontal detection “Duga”.
From 1968 to 1981 - Deputy Minister of Radio Industry of the USSR.
At the same time (1970–1976) he became the organizer and general director of Vympel Central Scientific Production Association, with the leading role of which, together with the cooperation of industrial enterprises and military units in the Soviet Union, the first combat missile defense systems, missile warning and space control space. For this purpose, the institutes and plants of Vympel Central Research and Production Association intensively developed, new scientific and production structures were created (NIIDAR branches in Nikolaev and Vladivostok, Research Institute of Radiophysics, Research Institute of Computing Complexes, Design Bureau of System Programming, Gomel and Southern Radio Factories).
From 1981 to 1989 - again the director of NIIDAR . Under his leadership, the institute developed a whole series of radars for the rocket and space defense forces (Krona, Volga, Volna, etc.).
He died in Moscow on 99 July 17, 2019. [one]
