Glyptotermes scotti (lat.) - a termite species of the genus Glyptotermes (family Kalotermitidae ). Included in the IUCN International Red List as endangered species 
. Endemic to the small island of Silhouette in the Seychelles archipelago [1] . Named after Mr Hugh Scott, a member of the 1908 expedition to these islands. [2]

Description
Small sized termites. The body length of the imago of males and females is 5 mm, with wings 8 mm. The length of the soldiers is 7 mm [2] . Found only on the small island of Silhouette leading to the Seychelles archipelago , where it is known from only one location in the northern part of the island. There is unconfirmed evidence of finds of this species on the nearby islands of Aride and Cousine . Found in rotting trunks of palm trees. Currently, almost the entire island of Silhouette is a national park [3] . It was first described in 1910 under the name Calotermes scotti Holmgren, 1910 [1] [2] .
