The Blagoveshchensk-Heihe cable car is a cross-border cableway under construction through Amur that will connect the cities of Blagoveshchensk (Russia) and the Aihui district of the Heihe city district (China). The world's first cableway between the two countries [1] .
Project
The total length of the cableway will be 973 meters [2] .
Travel time between destination points is about six minutes.
The volume of passenger traffic is 6-7 thousand people per day and 457 people per hour.
The capacity of one gondola will be 60 people.
The interval between flights is 12-15 minutes.
The speed of the gondola is 7 m / s.
The road will consist of 4 lines and operate on a pendulum principle, similar to a funicular. The height of the cables provides for the free passage of river transport in the Amur.
The total load capacity of the road is 23 tons. [3]
The construction budget is about 83 million dollars [4] .
A 4-story terminal station will be built on the Russian side according to the project of the Dutch architectural bureau UNStudio, with an area of 4.9 hectares, there will be checkpoints and retail space.
Construction Progress
Construction is carried out by 2 companies from the Russian Federation and China - the Region and Jinlungan Group of Companies.
The start of construction was given on July 18, 2019. The ceremony was held on a barge in the middle of the Amur, it was attended by the heads of investing companies, the governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov, the first deputy chairman of the People’s Government of Heilongjiang Province Li Haitao, the mayor of Blagoveshchensk Valentina Kalita, the head of the People’s Government Heihe Ma Lee. Various sources call the different dates for putting the cableway into operation - 2021, the second half of 2022, 2023. [6]
