History
The regiment dates back to the Kiev internal provincial half-battalion formed on January 17, 1811, reorganized on March 27, 1811 into a battalion, which was named the Kiev internal garrison battalion on July 14, 1816, and the Kiev provincial battalion on August 13, 1864, and 26 August 1874 - by the Kiev local battalion. On May 19, 1877, this battalion was reorganized into a regiment. On October 10, 1878, the 41st infantry reserve battalion (personnel) was formed from the 4th battalion of this regiment. By the highest order on March 25, 1891, this battalion was named the 171st infantry reserve Grokhovsky regiment, bringing it into a 2-battalion composition; On January 1, 1898, the regiment was assigned No. 182. In 1910, with the general reorganization of the reserve units, it was transformed into an infantry regiment with the same number remaining, and the 203rd Greyvoronsky and 248th Ostashkovsky reserve battalions joined the regiment.
The seniority of the Grokhovsky regiment is from May 19, 1877, that is, from the date of the formation of the Kiev local regiment. A simple banner with an anniversary Alexander ribbon, granted on March 27, 1911. Regimental holiday on October 1 at the Protection of the Holy Virgin .

Regimental Breastplate
Approved on 03/07/1911. A copy of the monument on the Grokhovsky battlefield , superimposed on a wreath of laurel and oak branches, tied with a red ribbon with the inscriptions: "1811-1911" and "182 Gr. P.". On the pedestal of the monument there is an overhead number “100”, and on the sides of its monogram are Emperors Alexander I and Nicholas II.
World War I Regiment's Battle Path
- August 20, 1914 - a fortified position was taken near Vronov, and the beginning of the capture of prisoners was laid: 5 officers and more than 500 lower ranks were taken.
- August 25, 1914 - a fortified position was taken near Khodel, which caused a general transition to the offensive of the entire IX army.
- September 2, 1914 - the regiment with battle crossed the San River at the village of Kempa and invaded Austria.
- September 23 - October 21, 1914 - the long-suffering 28-day defense of the San River and crossing with heavy losses at Brandvitsa, costing a regiment of 10 officers and 999 lower ranks. The road was laid for the 46th, 23rd and 80th divisions.
- November 11, 1914 - a dashing night strike near Gurka-Stongnevskaya when 16 officers, 832 lower ranks and 8 machine guns were captured.
- June 21 - July 10, 1915. A stubborn 20-day battle near Urzhendov and on the line of the villages of Adolina-Trzhinets, when the regiment won a decisive victory and captured 51 officers, 1 doctor, 2,139 prisoners and 3 machine guns, of which one was German.
