Puteykis, Naglis

Naglis Puteikis (born September 2, 1964 in Vilnius ) is a historian, political and public figure in Klaipeda city government , as well as a candidate for the post of President of Lithuania in the 2019 elections.

Biography

Naglis Puteikis was born on September 2, 1964 in Vilnius, married to Nina Putekene, has a son Gediminas (born 1993) and a daughter Auguste (born 2000) [1] .

Training

In 1982 he graduated from Vilnius 15th secondary school. During the school year (1983) he was drafted into the Soviet army and sent to Afghanistan [1] .

Career

After returning from the army and studying in 1988, he began working as a senior archaeologist and inspector at the Inspectorate for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Vilnius City Executive Committee. He participated in the creation of the first social security organizations.

In 1990-1995 he worked as Director General of the Inspectorate of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Lithuania. In 1995-1996. He was the coordinator of social programs at the Association of Lithuanian Municipalities, prepared programs for pensions, social assistance, social assistance and caring for the disabled.

In 1996-2000, he worked in the State Commission for Commemorative Protection, director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection, Deputy Minister of Culture, was responsible for museums, libraries, cultural heritage, and part of state and joint-stock companies managed by the ministry.

In 2000-2004 he was the director of Klaipeda ship repair. In 2005-2006 - The assistant to the member of the Diet Emanuelis Zingeris . In 2006-2007 - Head of the Klaipeda Territorial Unit of the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture [1] .
