Biography

Born in 1917 in the village of Sizgurt (Dyatlevo), now the Alnash district of Udmurtia. He studied at Alnash secondary school.

From 1936, from 19 years old - until his retirement - he worked as a literary employee of the regional newspaper Alnashsky Kolkhoznik .

Member of the Great Patriotic War , awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (1985).

Journalistic activity is marked by Honorary diplomas of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

He died in 1992.

Creativity

Semen Tarasovich, being already at an advanced age, wrote memoirs about his experiences, about his contemporaries, but most importantly, he created good hunting stories for children.

He began with poems - the first poem was published on the pages of the Alnash newspaper in 1932, poems were also published in the republican newspaper Udmurt Kommuna .

After the war, he was actively published in newspapers and magazines of Udmurtia (“ Soviet Udmurtia ”, “ Udmurt truth ”, “ Hammer ”) and in collective collections.

The author of a number of essays on collective farm life, one of which is “Potato - collective farm uzyrlykez” (“Potato - collective farm wealth”) is published as a separate book.

He made a series of hunting stories that compiled the collection "Pilemyos serttisko" ("The clouds disperse") published in 1960, becoming the founder of this genre in Udmurt literature .

He is also the author of the storybooks “Pushner Broom” (“Nettle Broom”) and “Lysva vulti” (“By the Dew”).

The stories about the exploits of fellow countrymen during the war were compiled by the collections “Tae um wunete” (“We Will Not Forget This”) and “Ulonen Pendant Wiskyn” (“Between Life and Death”).

In Russian, translated by N. P. Kralina in 1964, the story “Mina” was published as a separate book.
