Biography

Oleg Protsenko was born on 27 October 1932 in Kiev in the family of engineer Dmitry Lavrentievich Protsenko (1903-1981) and his wife Lyudmila Ivanovna (1899-1988), who was an engineer in the Soviet food industry . In 1956, Oleg graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of Odessa State University named after I.I. Mechnikov , receiving a diploma in theoretical physics , and from 1956 to 1960 he worked at the Department of Mathematics at the Novosibirsk Institute of Water Transport Engineers . Then he entered graduate school at the Department of National Economy Planning at the G.V. Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy (MINH). In 1963, he successfully defended his thesis on the topic "Economic and mathematical analysis of an extended model of interindustry balance" (according to other sources - "Questions of economic and mathematical analysis of a planned interindustry balance (according to an expanded scheme)").

Between 1963 and 1965, Protsenko was a senior research fellow at the newly established Research Institute for the Design of Computing Centers and Economic Information Systems (NII TsSU USSR); from 1965 to 1966 he was the head of the laboratory at the Central Research Economic Institute (TsENII) under the State Planning Commission of the RSFSR . In 1966-1980 he was the head of the department and deputy director at the Research Institute of Economics and the Organization of Logistics (NIIIMS) under the USSR State Planning Committee.

In 1968, Protsenko became an assistant professor at MINH. In 1973, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Intersectoral balance and planning of economic relations" (according to other sources - "Modeling of processes in material and technical supply"); became a doctor of economic sciences . In 1978, he became professor at the same university. Since December 1994, he is a professor and vice-rector of the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation . He was also the director of the faculty "Institute of Management and Marketing" of the Academy and the chairman of the doctoral dissertation council.

Protsenko is a member of several academies: he is a full member of the Academy of Natural Sciences, the International Academy of Management, the Academy of Economic Sciences and Entrepreneurship, the International Academy of Regional Development and Cooperation (MARS), as well as the International Academy of Organizational Sciences and the Municipal Academy. He received the title of Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Barcelona and became a member of the extended board of the MBA program at two German universities: in Magdeburg and in Bielefeld . He was the deputy chairman and chairman of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission for Economics; Member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission. Protsenko is the chief editor of the journal " Russian Entrepreneurship "; He was also a member of the editorial board of the German magazine Betriebswirtschaft and the Portuguese magazine Galileo ( Lisbon ). On August 3, 2015, he joined the editorial board of Logistics magazine.
