Player Career
In 1958, the striker began his career as a player in KR. That season, the club became 2nd in the championship. In 1959, KR won the Iceland championship, and Thor Beck scored 11 goals and became the top scorer of the tournament. In 1960, Thor Beck scored 15 goals in the championship and won the Iceland Cup. In 1961 he scored 16 goals and won both of Iceland's main football tournaments. In 1961 he moved to the Scottish St. Mirren, for which the striker spent three seasons in the first division. In 1964, Thor Beck moved to the Rangers, in which he won the Scottish League Cup and Cup e Scotland. Beck also played for football clubs in France and the USA. In 1969, the player ended his career as a player.

In 1959, the striker played the first match against Denmark . In the same game, the striker scored the first goal for the national team. Thor Beck played two matches in the qualifying tournament of the European Championship against Ireland (2-4.1-1).
