Career
Ivan Yakovlev was born in St. Petersburg , where he began to practice volleyball. He is a student of the local Avtomobilist . Since 2012 he has performed in the youth line-up of the Novy Urengoy “ Torch ”. In 2014, as part of this club became the bronze medalist of the Youth League Cup and the winner of the Youth League.
After an annual performance in the Moscow MSTU , Yakovlev returned to Fakel and began performing in the Super League . In 2017, he became the winner of the Challenge Cup and was called to the youth team to play at the World Championships in Egypt. The Russian team reached the final, where it lost to peers from Argentina, but despite this, Yakovlev got into the symbolic team at the end of the tournament.
In 2018, Ivan Yakovlev in the “Torch” became the bronze medalist of the Russian championship , while in the regular championship he became the second in terms of the number of units set [1] . In the same season, he won another bronze medal, this time at the World Club Championship in Poland. After the end of the season, he signed a contract with Zenit from St. Petersburg.
In 2019, he was first called to the Russian team . He made his debut in the first match of the League of Nations with the French team . In the course of the tournament he became a player in the main team, scored 117 points in 15 matches and after winning the Russian team in the finals of the tournament he entered the symbolic national league team as one of the two best blocking players.
