Biography

Two years after the creation of NOFX, he moved to Santa Barbara, leaving the group. In just one year without Sandin, the group replaced two drummers (Scott Sellers and Scott Aldal), and in 1986 the group persuaded Sandin to return to NOFX.

Since his return in 1986, he has been a regular NOFX drummer and has played drums on every NOFX studio album and EP released, including the 2007 live album, They've Actually Gotten Worse Live !. Dogpiss introduced a song about it called Stand In Erik Sandin on Fat Wreck Chords, called Short Music for Short People.

Before recording White Trash, Two Heebs, and Bean, the NOFX frontman Fat Mike delivered an ultimatum to Sandin. He had to quit heroin or replace him. Realizing that NOFX was the most important thing in his life, and with the help of Brett Gurewitz and Lynn Strait, Sandin went to rehab on a desert hot spring ranch in California to treat heroin addiction. Since then, Sandin has not used heroin anymore.
