Biography

Alexander Lindstrom was born on August 8 ( 20 ), 1858 in Finland ; in 1884 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy with a degree in medicine . In 1892, at the same university, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on "Towards the pathological anatomy of scleroderma ." After that, until January 1908, he worked as an inspector at the Kiev Military Paramedic School .

In 1894, Lindstrom became privat-docent of the Imperial Kiev University of St. Vladimir ; in 1908 he was elected to the post of extraordinary professor at the Department of Dermatology and Syphilology. Two years later, he became an ordinary professor at the Department of Systematic and Clinical Teaching on cutaneous and syphilitic diseases at Imperial Tomsk University . In 1914, he was expelled from the staff of professors in connection with retirement - "for a long term"; at the same time, he continued to head the department until his death.

Alexander Lindstrom taught students courses in dermatology and venereology; In addition to working at the university, he was actively engaged in private practice. During his reign, in 1908, the venereological clinic moved to a new vast building, which was part of Tomsk hospital clinics - occupying almost the entire upper floor and receiving new equipment. Lindstrom died in Tomsk during the Civil War - October 31, 1920, at the 63rd year of his life; was buried at the local Preobrazhensky cemetery.

He was married to Alexander Adolfovna (Ardaltovna) Lindstrom (b. 1864), studying at the mathematical department of Siberian Higher Women's Courses (SVZHK); the family had two sons: Alexander (born in 1893) and Aleksey (born in 1897); in the academic year 1916/1917, both sons were first-year students of the medical faculty of the University of Tomsk.
