Biography
Victor Yakovlevich Dolivo-Dobrovolsky was born on March 4, 1825; came from the nobility of the Moscow province . He was brought up at the Artillery School , where he entered on August 11, 1842 [1] .
At the end of the course, on August 10, 1845, he was promoted to ensign with leaving at the school, during which he was promoted to second lieutenant for successes in science on July 17, 1846. At the end of the additional course of the Artillery School, on June 12, 1847, he enlisted in the Mountain No. 5 battery of the 21st Artillery Brigade and on July 17, 1848 was promoted to assignment [1] .
In 1848 and 1849 Dolivo-Dobrovolsky was in the Dagestan detachment under the command of the Adjutant General Prince Argutinsky-Dolgorukov and for the difference against the highlanders in the case on September 22, 1848 in the village of Mexenji was awarded in 1849 the Order of St. Anne of the 4th degree with the inscription " for courage β [1] .
In 1850, he was in the Lezgin detachment and for the difference in the case against the Highlanders when taking the village of Kolob on June 7, he was promoted to headquarters captains. In 1851, he participated in continuous battles on the right flank of the Caucasian line . In contrast to the September 19th raid on the Pshehu River, in 1852 he was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree with a bow [1] .
For the courage shown in the battle on the heights of Bash-Kadik-Lara on November 19, 1853, Viktor Yakovlevich Dolivo-Dobrovolsky was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with a bow in 1854. In 1854, he was in the current corps and, for the difference in the battle with the Turks, was promoted to captain on July 24 at the village of Kyuruk-Dara [1] .
Since June 23, 1854, Dolivo-Dobrovolsky was in the Crimean army, guarding the southern parts of Sevastopol , and for the difference on August 4 in the battle on the Chernaya River , in 1856 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree with swords. After leaving Sevastopol, he returned to the Caucasus and participated in the siege of Kars on September 17, 1855, for the difference he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on October 12 [1] .
February 27, 1857 he was appointed commander of the battery number 2 of the 13th artillery brigade battery, and October 30, 1857 - light number 6 of the battery of the 20th artillery brigade [1] .
Produced on May 24, 1858 for the distinction against the highlanders as colonels , Viktor Yakovlevich Dolivo-Dobrovolsky on November 27, 1860 was appointed chief of staff of the troops of the Dagestan region , enlisted on foot field artillery. On January 17, 1861, he received a golden saber with the inscription "for courage" [2] for the differences in the conquest of the eastern Caucasus, and in April 1862 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree with swords [1] for military exploits. Also in 1861 he received the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree and the imperial crown for this order [3] .
According to the highest decree given to the Governing Senate on June 16, 1862, he was allowed to be named, along with his wife (niece of the Adjutant General Count Nikolai Ivanovich Evdokimov ) and offspring, Counts Dolivo-Dobrovolsky-Evdokimov [1] [4] .
From June 11 to July 5, 1863 he was with the troops in the Zakatala district on the occasion of the uprising that broke out there. On August 22, 1864 he was promoted to major general (seniority was given since August 30, 1865) [1] [3] .
In January 1865, Count Dolivo-Dobrovolsky-Evdokimov was appointed to be part of the Caucasian Army, and on August 6 of that same year he was appointed assistant to the head of the 20th infantry division of the Russian Imperial Army and served in this position until his death [1] . In 1867 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree [3] .
Count Viktor Yakovlevich Dolivo-Dobrovolsky-Evdokimov died on November 21, 1869 in the city of Vladikavkaz [1] .
His son Victor also chose a military career and rose to the rank of general from the RIA artillery [5] . He also had a daughter, Alexander , who in 1880 successfully graduated from the Smolny Institute of Noble Maidens .
