Biography
Ernst von Hesse-Philippe-Stal-Barchfeldsky was born on January 28, 1789 in Barchfelde in the country of Thuringia (Germany). From the nobles ; the son of Landgrave Adolf (1742-1803) from his marriage to Louise , Princess of Saxe-Meiningen (1752-1805) [1] [2] .
On May 29, 1808, he was accepted into the Russian service from lieutenant colonels of the Hesse-Philippine service with the same rank in the 6th Jaeger Regiment with the appointment of being under Field Marshal Prince A. A. Prozorovsky [2] .
On October 23, 1811, Hesse-Filipstal-Barhfeldsky was dismissed from service due to health reasons and was again admitted on June 23, 1812 with the production of colonels and with the appointment of being a cavalry [2] .
He took part in the Patriotic War of 1812 and for the liberation of Europe from Napoleon [2] .
Consisting of Platov, he was seriously wounded on August 29 at Krymsky (Tatarka): his leg was torn off with a cannonball [2] .
On July 15, 1813, Ernst von Hessen-Filipstal-Barkhfeldsky was promoted to major general for his distinction against the enemy, and on August 3, 1814 he was awarded the Order of St. George, 4th class [2] [3] .
November 5, 1814 was ordered to produce from the Cabinet an annual pension of 600 chervon [2] .
On January 17, 1820, Hesse-Filipstal-Barhfeldsky was appointed to be a member of the Guards Corps for light cavalry [4] [2] .
On August 22, 1826, he was promoted to lieutenant general. [2]
On September 9, 1836, according to his own request, he was released from service with the rank of general from the cavalry and with the right to wear his uniform; in addition, as a sign of special favor of Sovereign Nicholas I was granted the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky for excellent service [2] [5] .
Ernst von Hesse-Philippe-Stahl-Barchfeldsky died on April 20, 1850 in Herleshausen [2] [6] .
