Game career
Known for his performances for the Fijian amateur club Nadroga and a number of professional teams: the English club Harlequins, the Japanese Sekom Raggats and the French clubs Brive Correz and La Rochelle. He participated in the Farebrother trophy in the match against the Fiji club Nadi when he was a Nadrog player and in the last minute unsuccessfully struck a penalty, not allowing the team to equalize and ultimately became the culprit of the defeat [2] .
He made his debut game for the Fiji national team on May 26, 2000 in Nukualofa against Tonga , having played 4 more matches in the same year. In 2001, he held five meetings for the national team, in June 2002, he held a series of test matches - including the game on June 29, 2002 against New Zealand, when he made two attempts at once against All Black and became the first and only Fijian to whom this succeeded [3] . In November of that year - three matches from a tour of Europe against Wales , Ireland and Scotland . In 2003, he participated in test matches against Argentina and Chile , after which he was announced for the World Cup in Australia; marked by entering two attempts in the game against Japan [3] . In 2005, he played 8 games, including participating in the November Fijian tour of Europe. In 2006, he performed at the Five Pacific Nations Cup for Fiji; Until 2007, he remained a solid base player in the position of full back in Fiji. By the number of attempts for the national team, it takes 4th place (17 attempts on November 24, 2018), by the number of points - 9th place (85 points on November 24, 2018). In the national team Ligairi was distinguished by high speed, strength and ability to play on the defensive, as well as a good ball possession. In 2003, in the World Cup game against Japan, he threw the ball forward with his foot, and then caught up with him almost at the score line and managed to make an attempt [4] [2] .
As part of the rugby-7 team, Ligairi participated in a series of tournaments, becoming the silver medalist of the Commonwealth Games 2002 and the bronze medalist of the Commonwealth Games 2006. In 2000, he participated in tournaments in Hong Kong and Melrose [2] .
