Lama Conchog

Geshe Lama Konchog (1917-2001) [1] - a Buddhist master of the Gelugpa school, practicing the Six Yogas of Naropa - kindling the inner fire. The XIV Dalai Lama recognized Konchog as a Mahasiddha [2] [3] .

Konchog spent 26 years in an isolated mountain refuge seeking enlightenment. Since 1985, he lived in the Kopan Monastery in Kathmandu . He also traveled the world and taught.

Konchog died at the age of 84 in 2001. Tenzin Puntsok Rinpoche (Puntsok Rinpoche) was recognized by the Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of Konchog [2] . Konchog’s funeral rites and the search for his subsequent reincarnation by his close student documented in the 2008 film “The Chosen One ”.
