Biography
He graduated from Ryazan Pedagogical Institute with honors.
In 1954, he entered the graduate school of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , defended his thesis.
Since 1962, at the Kalinin Peat Institute , now Tver State Technical University (TSTU).
From 1965 to 1995, he was the head of the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TSTU, from 1995 to 2010 he was a professor at the same department.
In 1969 he defended his doctoral dissertation " Experimental and theoretical study of contacting rough surfaces in relation to problems of external friction " at the Kiev Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers .
Member of the American Engineering Society, Russian National Committee for Tribology, Interdepartmental Scientific Council for Tribology, member of the editorial board of the international journal " Friction and Wear ", the journal "Friction, Wear and Lubrication" ( publishing house "Engineering" ).
Under his leadership, 4 doctors of sciences and 38 candidates of sciences were prepared [5] .
