History

The exact date of construction of the manor house is unknown. The first known owner of the estate was teacher D.F. Delsalle (Delessal), who opened the first private boarding house in Moscow in 1804 in Khamovniki (most likely in this estate, but it is not known whether it is in the same house). As of 1816, the central volume of the house already existed. By 1830, a portico and an extension were added on the right side; finally, a look close to the modern one was formed by 1839. Two outbuildings were taken to the boulevard, demolished at the beginning of the 20th century, when a new building, M. M. Lyuboshchinsky, was built on the red line of the boulevard (completed in 1911 by architect G.F. Yartsev). This house fenced the main house of the estate from the roadway. According to the recollections of the granddaughter of Lyuboshchinsky, this was done after the uprising of 1905, when there were fights on the boulevard [2] [3] .

Architecture

The building is built of wood, stone portico. It was built in the Empire style . In the center of the composition of the building is a majestic portico of the Tuscan warrant , and lowered side wings, which are indented backward, shade at the edges. Behind the portico are high arched windows with archivolts . The courtyard facade is simpler, stretched. On it in the center of the facade there was a metal balcony, but was removed at the last restoration as a later one [2] .

Unusual interior layout. The enfilade, characteristic of empire buildings, is located along the rear facade, and along the main one there are high rooms, possibly serving as classes in the Delsalle School. The enfilade includes three low living rooms under the mezzanines, they are connected by the opening of the openings with columns and pilasters of the ionic order . The capitals and stucco friezes are especially distinguished by the subtlety of the pattern. A wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine from the inner corridor, the balusters of the railing of which were restored during restoration [2] .
