Commercial Success
In the first week of the release of album IV, 211,000 copies were sold in the United States , debuting in first place on the Billboard 200 chart [5] . This figure is slightly less than the 267,000 units sold by Godsmack's third studio album, Faceless [6] , back in April 2003, and 256,000 units in the first week reached Awake 2000 [7] . IV also debuted at number four on Top Canadian Albums and number one on Top Internet Albums.
June 26, 2006, album IV received a “ golden ” status according to the American Association of Recording Companies [8] .
Title
The name of the album “IV” comes not only from the fact that it is the fourth studio album of the group, but also from the running part of the behind-the-scenes humor, as it relates to Larkin and Erna:
We have this guard, a big, tough guy named JC. He is another Boston guy. And in Boston, this is fu. They really don't have a “R.” It's not a “four,” it's a “phew.” He will wander backstage, and the chicks will pass by, and he will rate them from 1 to 10. But if it were not 10, there would not be 1, 2, 3 or 5. It was always you “ten„ or “ fu. " He just pulled out the funniest things. Sometimes he just held four fingers, and he no longer needed to say this, and we all just laughed. And then the funniest one, this guy walked with a chick on each arm, and he says: “Hey, bub, two guys don’t make eight!” So when our fourth studio album was released, everyone said “Fu!” “That's all , dude". We are not trying to break all the records of originality here. I know that there is Black Sabbath Vol. 4 , Foreinger 4 , Led Zeppelin IV , millionIV. We just thought it was appropriate [9] [10] .
