The Gudermes ridge is located in Chechnya and is the eastern tip of the Terek mountain range . Its length is about 30 km. The highest point of the ridge is Mount Geiran Court (428 m). At the Aksay River, the ridge connects with the spurs of the Black Mountains . The Sunzha River passes through the passage between the Gudermes and Bragun ranges to the Tersko-Kum Lowland [1] .

The surface of the ridge is composed of pebbles , ferruginous sandstones , shale, often gypsum-bearing clays. Quaternary deposits are widespread in the form of loess - like loams that cover the bottom of the Alkhanchurt valley and the surface of the Terek terraces [2] .
