History
A small distillery in the village Andrushevka Andrushevskoy parish Zhytomyr district Volyn province of the Russian Empire operated before the February revolution of 1917 [1] .
1918 - 1991
On January 4, 1918, Soviet power was established in the village, but soon Andrushevka was occupied by German troops (which remained here until November 1918). Later, during the civil war, the enterprise was destroyed. In August 1920, the distillery was nationalized, then it was restored and resumed work as a distillery [1] .
In 1938, the distillery over-fulfilled the production volume provided for by the annual plan and the enterprise’s working team received the right to be called Stakhanov [1] .
During World War II from July 10, 1941 to December 27, 1943, the settlement was under German occupation . Later, the distillery was restored and reconstructed, and in 1966 it was transformed into the Andrushivsky alcohol distillery [1] .
In general, in the Soviet era, the alcohol plant was one of the largest enterprises in the city [2] [1] [3] .
After 1991
After the proclamation of independence of Ukraine, the plant was transferred to the jurisdiction of the state food industry committee of Ukraine [4] and became one of the largest enterprises of the alcohol industry in Ukraine.
Later, the plant was renamed the Andrushevsky distillery [4] .
In March 1995, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine added the plant to the list of enterprises whose privatization is prohibited due to their national importance [4] .
After the creation of the state-owned alcohol and liquor-vodka industry Ukrspirt in June 1996, the plant was transferred to the concern Ukrspirt [5] .
In January 2000, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the plant to manufacture components for motor fuels [6] , in July 2000 the state program Ethanol was approved, which provided for the expansion of the use of ethyl alcohol as an energy carrier, and the Andrushivsky distillery (together with other state-owned alcohol distilleries) included in the list of performers of this program [7] .
