Life and work
Born December 24, 1910 in the village of Kun-Batysh, now the Ton district of Issyk-Kul region in a family of farm laborers. He lost his parents early, from the age of 10 he was brought up in a boarding school in Tyup [1] . Dzhusup in Tyup studied at an agricultural technical school [2] , then in 1928 he left for the city of Frunze [1] . He worked as a corrector in the republican newspaper "Kyzyl Kyrgyzstan", then was the head of the newspaper department. Dzhusup Turusbekov was the editor of the youth newspaper "Leninchil Zhash", the editor of the Kyrgyz State Publishing House, was a literary consultant in the Writers' Union and the director of the Kyrgyz Republican Drama Theater, participated in the literary circle "Kyzyl Uchkun" [1] [2] . In 1928-1931 he studied at the Soviet-party school in the city of Tver , during the holidays worked as an editor in the newspaper "Leninchil Zhash" [1] .
He began to engage in literary activity in 1928, is the author of the collections “Dzhusup's Poems” (1932), “Cheerful Youth” (1933), “Fatherland” (1938), the author of the play “Not Death, but Life” (Ajal Orduna, 1935 ), "Events in Besh-Moynok" (1937). Together with K. Malikov and J. Bokonbaev, he wrote the libretto of the opera Aichurek in 1939. He was engaged in translation, translated into Kyrgyz the play The Stone Guest from the cycle “ Little Tragedies ” by A. S. Pushkin , works by G. Heine and others [3] .
Dzhusup (Zhusup) Turusbekov - has been a member of the CPSU since 1930, awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor , was a member of the First Congress of Soviet Writers [3] . Member of World War II , went to the front in 1941, continued to write in the trenches. Jusup sent the poem “The Tragedy of the Robber” from the front by field mail to the editorial office of the newspaper “Kyzyl Kyrgyzstan”, the work was published in 1942 [1] .
Died Jusup Turusbekov on the Kalinin Front in April 1944 [4] [5] [3] .
The street and library were named after Dzhusup Turusbekov [6] [7] .
Family
Wife of Dzhusup Turusbekova - Kulsun Moldakhmatova, graduated from the Pedagogical College; have three children, the eldest daughter - Lilya Zhusupovna Turusbekova , a Soviet film director, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR (1979) [1] .
