It is located on the Berezayka River in the forests 21 km south-east of the city of Valdai , 155 km from Veliky Novgorod , 1 km from the border with the Tver region .
The village is connected by road with the village of ZATO Ozerny (exit to the " Russia " highway). Nearest train station The station is located in Edrovo (10 km to the north-east, on the Bologoe -Valdai line).

According to the data provided in the "Lists of populated areas of the Novgorod province. Valdai County ”(Novgorod, 1909) the population of the village of Selishche with the Selishche graveyard and the mill was 381 people.
History
In the book "Novgorod Collection" (Novgorod edition. Stat. Com, 1865) it is mentioned among the villages of the parish (Transfiguration Church) of the village of Edrovo as:
“... Villages by the Berezayka River 10 miles from the church on a country road leading to the city of Ostashkov; the terrain is open and mountainous; Korelaks live in it; 70 yards ... "
In 1888-1895, a brick church in the Russian-Byzantine style was built in Selishchi, under the care of the local native economist Alexandro-Nevsky Lavra, archimandrite Eugene and noblewoman N. A. Sapozhnikova. The main church in honor of Alexander Nevsky was consecrated on 08/20/1895. The church was closed around (before) 1930 and has survived to this day in poor condition [2]
In the book “Materials for the assessment of land in the Novgorod province. Valdai County ”(Novgorod, 1902), there is evidence that the allotment of the state peasants of the village of Selishche included:

No. 20. The village is a mill; on the lands of I.I. Melnikov. Number of inhabitants: men - 1, women - 1. Occupation of inhabitants: in the summer - mill, in the winter - oil and wool slaughter. Located on the Berezayka River. Buildings - mill, oil mill and wool mill. [four]
