North Reef (Solomon Islands)

The North Reef is a shallow reef south of Rennell Island. This is one of the three atolls that make up the Indispensable atolls in the provinces of Rennell and Bellona in the Solomon Islands .

Three steep atolls and each surrounds a large deep lagoon. They are separated by deep passages 2-3 km wide.

The northern reef covers an area of ​​18 km in length and up to 7 km in width. The rim of the atoll has two narrow openings in the north and northwest. The total area of ​​the reef is 100 km2, including the lagoon and reef plain. There are no islands.
