"Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)" is the debut single of Danish percussion duo Safri Duo . It was released in 2000 as the lead single from their first studio album Episode II . The song was produced by Michael Parsberg and is a combination of traditional African drums and electronic music. The single was sold in a print run of 1.5 million copies worldwide [1] , topping the charts of two European countries (Denmark and Switzerland), as well as being featured in the Top-10 of several more charts (the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, as well as the UK and USA dance chart). He takes 4th place among the fastest-selling singles in Europe [2] . Subsequently, the song was used as the official theme for Kingda Ka's Six Flags Great Adventure theme park. Also sounds in the soundtrack of the FIFA Football 2003 video game. In 2001, the song won the Danish Music Awards as the “Danish Club Hit of the Year” [3] .
