Club career

Clint Bolton began his adult football career in 1993, signing a contract with the Brisbane Strikers club, after a year at the Australian Institute of Sports. Bolton played 178 matches for Brisbane Strykers, keeping the goal intact in 51 games. In 1997, he won the National Football League Final with the club. And in 2000, the Australian signed a contract with Sydney Olympic FC.

Sydney Olympic FC became Clint Bolton's second club - he played 95 matches for him (of which he kept the goal dry in 32 games). In the 2001-02 season, Sydney Olympic FC won the National Football League. The club also reached the league final in the 2002-03 season, but could not defend the title, losing to Perth Glory . After three seasons at Sydney Olympic FC, Bolton moved to Parramatta Power.

Clint Bolton spent one season at Parramatta Power, having played 27 matches for the club and defended “zero” 11 times. In the 2003–04 National Football League final, Parramatta Power lost to Perth Glory 0–1 in extra time. After losing the final, Bolton began to look for a new club to get more playing practice - the next season he spent at Fraser Park FC and APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC.

In 2005, Bolton signed a contract with Sydney. He made his club debut on August 28, 2005 in a match against Melbourne Victory . In the 2005–06 season, Clint Bolton was named Sydney's best player, ahead of his teammates Dwight York , Alvin Ceccoli and David Carney . After receiving the award, Bolton said: “It is always a great honor to receive awards such as this, especially when teammates vote for you. It was a great year for Sydney, we won the Championship and excelled in the Club World Championship (...). ”

On January 1, 2007, Clint Bolton achieved a record number of matches “to zero” - for 5 consecutive games he kept the goal intact. Bolton also became the second player in the history of the club, who reached the mark of 100 matches played.

He was remembered in Sydney as the “goalkeeper of the year” in the 2005-06 season, when the club won the Grand Final, as well as the player who spent more than 100 matches for the club.

On February 16, 2010, it was announced that Bolton had signed a contract with Melbourne City [3] . In just three seasons, the player spent 70 matches for the club. At the end of the 2010–11 season, he received the Club Player of the Year award [4] .

In July 2013, after completing a football career, Clint Bolton took up the position of strategic project manager at Melbourne City.
