History
In accordance with the Law of the Omsk Region dated July 30, 2004 No. 548-OZ “On the Borders and Status of Municipalities of the Omsk Region” [3], the village became part of the formed municipal formation “Krasnooktyabrsky Rural Settlement”.
Geography
Red October is located in the south-east of the region, within the Kurumbelskaya steppe , which is part of the Chebakly-Sumin depression .

According to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census, in the gender structure of the population of 1307 people there are 633 men and 674 women (48.4 and 51.6% respectively) [2]
