Content
DescriptionThe color of the chest is variable, in males from above always with a narrow dark metal blue-green stripe. On the claws of the legs there is a lower tooth, which is absent or rudimentary in the related genus Teinobasis . Wingspan from 21 to 35 mm [2] . The body length of the larvae is about 10 mm. Caudal gills widened and pigmented [3] .
EcologyAn imago flies away from water. Larvae of all species develop in the axils of pandanus leaves [1] [3] . They can walk on leaves, and spend only part of the time in water [3] .
SystematicsThe genus is described by the Swiss entomologist [4] . Most species are described by the Dutch entomologist [5] . The genus includes 28 species [6] , including [2] [1] [6] .

DistributionFound on the island of New Guinea and on the islands of Aru , Biak and Yapen [5] . It is found in the mountains up to 3000 m above sea level [3] .
