Yuvenaly Smirnov (d. Not earlier than 1804) - archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church [2] , teacher , prefect of the Kazan Theological Seminary , rector of the Tambov Theological Seminary .

Biography
Information about childhood and worldly life of Juvenal Smirnov was practically not preserved, and the subsequent biographical data about him are very scarce and fragmentary; it is known that since 1772 he was the law teacher of the cadet corps [3] .
In 1774, Father Yuvenaly was elected abbot of the Zilantov Assumption Monastery in the city of Kazan , and the following year he was transferred to the Kizichesky Vvedensky Monastery [3] .
From 1786 to 1787, Juvenal was rector of the Nizhnelomovsky Kazan Bogoroditsky monastery [2] .
On April 23, 1787, Yuvenaly Smirnov was appointed rector of the Tambov Theological Seminary , but this post took less than a month; upon arrival in Tambov and analyzing the scale of the construction of the seminary building, he petitioned to relieve him of this position, which was already done on May 18 [2] .
In 1802 he was transferred to the Tsarekonstantinovsky (Volosovsky) monastery [4] of the Vladimir diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church , where he died [3] [5] .
Of the literary works of Juvenal Smirnov the following are best known: “The initial rhetorical teaching ” ( Moscow , 1804) and the words he uttered at the highest court on November 26, 1780 ( St. Petersburg , 1780), when the cadets were graduated (St. Petersburg, 1782) ) and with the highest presence in the court church (St. Petersburg, 1785) [3] [6] .
