Red Uzbekistan (collective farm)

Red Uzbekistan , also known as Kyzyl Uzbekistan ( Uzb.Zizil Uzbekistan ) is a large leading exemplary collective farm in the Ordzhonikidze district (now Kibray district) of the Tashkent region of the Uzbek SSR , which existed during the Soviet era. There is no exact data on the date of creation of this collective farm. Information and references to this collective farm in the Soviet media began in the 1950s. Many leaders and officials of foreign countries who visited the Uzbek SSR during their visits to the USSR visited this collective farm.

In September 1956, during his visit to the Uzbek SSR, the collective farm "Red Uzbekistan" was visited by the then President of Indonesia - Sukarno ^[1] .

In May 1958, during the first years of his rule, the then head of the UAR , Gamal Abdel Nasser , during his visit to the USSR, visited the Uzbek SSR, visiting in particular the exemplary collective farm “Red Uzbekistan”, where he familiarized himself with the developed agriculture of the republic. inspected the vineyards ^{[2] [3]} . During his stay on this collective farm, the chairman of the collective farm presented the horse to Egypt’s leader ^{[4] [5]} . According to eyewitnesses of this visit, a big dinner was organized on the collective farm with the participation of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the leadership of the Uzbek SSR, representatives of the central government of the USSR, as well as other invited guests. According to the memoirs of Vadim Kirpichenko : “I remembered lunch on the collective farm“ Kyzyl Uzbekistan ”. The guests and the leadership of the republic sat on an elevation, on a specially constructed platform, and invited guests were placed all around on carpets and mats, and it seemed that these carpets and mats extended to the horizon. The number of participants in this dinner was not in the hundreds, but in the thousands. ” ... “When visiting the Tashkent textile mill, members of the UAR delegation were wrinkled: there was an incredible noise from the roar of machine tools (the impression was created that several tank brigades had made a breakthrough), shreds of cotton flew through the shops. Nothing could be seen and heard. One of the delegation members asked me: - Have you been at a textile mill in Al-Mahalla al-Kubra ? I answered in the affirmative. Why do we need to show this old stuff? Indeed, the Egyptian textile mill, which was equipped with the latest American, British and French machines, did not have such hellish noise or cotton clouds, and with ventilation, the situation was much better. In general, the state of our technical equipment incredibly surprised the Egyptians, and even more struck by their number of women engaged in heavy road work. So, the delegation took mixed feelings and impressions with them to their homeland ” ^[6] .

In May 1963, the collective farm "Red Uzbekistan" during a large visit to the Uzbek SSR was visited by the then head of Cuba , one of the main participants of the Cuban revolution - Fidel Castro . In honor of the arrival of the Cuban leader, a large reception was also arranged on the collective farm ^[7] .

In July 1968, the collective farm during its visit to the Uzbek SSR was visited by the then President of India - Zakir Hussein ^[8] .
