History

In the 1871 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire (according to 1868–1869), the settlement is mentioned as the state village of Shabalino in the Ishim district of the Tobolsk province , near Lake Shabalin, located 113 miles from the district center of the city of Ishim . There were 93 yards in the village and 494 people (251 men and 243 women). There was an Orthodox church [2] .

In 1926, in the village of Shabalinsky there were 170 households and 905 people lived (430 men and 475 women). The first-level school functioned. Administratively, it was the center of the Shabalinsky village council of the Armizon district of Ishim district of the Ural region [3] .

Geography

The village is located in the southern part of the Tyumen region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Ishim plain , on the southern shore of Lake Shabalina, at a distance of about 14 kilometers (in a straight line) east-southeast (ESE) from the village of Armizonskoye , the administrative center of the district. The absolute height is 135 meters above sea ​​level [4] .

The climate is sharply continental with warm summers and harsh cold winters. The annual rainfall is 310 mm. The average January temperature is −18.2 ° C, July –18.1 ° C [5] .
