Giovanni Steffe ( Italian: Giovanni Steffè ; March 8, 1928 , Koper , Kingdom of Italy - October 19, 2016 , Recco , Italy ) - Italian rower of the academic style, silver medalist at the Summer Olympic Games in London (1948).

Biography
He played for the CC Libertas club from Koper, which was then in Slovenia. In February 1947, Yugoslav police broke into a rowing club and confiscated all boats. To continue training, the athlete, along with his partner Aldo Tarlao, started cycling to the club Dopolavoro Ferroviario. In the same year, they became Italian doubles champions in both the junior and senior divisions. Soon after, they finished second at the European Championships in Lucerne.
At the Summer Olympic Games in London (1948), he becomes the owner of a silver medal in the races of two oars with steering. After the completion of the Games, he moved to Genoa and joint performances with Tarlao ended. After a year, they had already met, but as rivals and the crew of Tarlao was stronger. The next time they were together only in 2007 at an event where all the former Ligurian Olympians were present.
