Päivi Maarit Laine ( Fin. Päivi Maarit Laine ; born , ) is a Finnish diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Ukraine (since 2019).

Biography
Born April 14, 1964 in Artjärvi, Finland.
From 1985 to 1986 she studied at the preparatory course at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In 1986, as an exchange student, she studied at the University of Warsaw for a year, and from 1989 to 1990, under the exchange program, she studied at the University of Manchester . In 1994, she received a master's degree in history from the University of Tampere .
Since 1995, she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland .
Since 1996, she served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Finland in Latvia.
Since 2000, she has been consul at the Embassy of Finland in the UK.
Since 2004, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in the Department of Relations with Russia.
Since 2007, she has been Vice Consul at the Embassy of Finland in Poland.
Since 2012, she served as the Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Russia .
Since 2017, as an ambassador, she has represented Finland in Iraq, visiting the country once a month (residing in Helsinki) [1] .
In 2019, she was appointed Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine and on June 12, 2019 handed copies of credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine [2] .
Married, has two sons [3] . In addition to native Finnish , he speaks fluent English and Polish , knows Swedish and Russian, and, at a basic level, German .
