The Legislative Council of Hong Kong ( LegCo ) is the unicameral parliament of the Hong Kong region of the PRC .
The council itself consists of 70 members, 35 of which are elected from 5 geographic districts in a proportional manner, and 35 are elected from members of organizations.
The Council was established in 1843.
In 1997, Hong Kong came under Chinese control.
Since 2000, elections to the Legislative Council have been held every four years.
