Together with Eugenia Jon and Maria Natusius was one of the most famous German children's writers of her time.

Biography
From her youth she began to write stories and poems. Since 1833 she studied in Stuttgart . In 1843 she married a professor of philology at the University of Tübingen . Ottily's good education allowed her to help her husband work. Like her husband, she taught English .
Creativity
Children's writer. The author of short stories and novels, novels, stories from the life of families and youth.
She made her debut in 1847, publishing her first story, Die Alte Jungfer, in the Morgenblatt newspaper.
In 1870, O. Wildermouth founded the children's magazine “Jugendgarten” (“Youth Garden”), which was later run by her daughters.
In 1871, O. Wildermut was awarded the Württemberg Gold Medal for his contribution to art and science.
In 1867, her health deteriorated greatly due to nervous problems. Died of a stroke .
