List of cities of the USSR occupied and liberated during World War II - a list of cities located on the territory of the USSR of June 22, 1941 , which were occupied by the Axis forces during the Great Patriotic War . The table shows the dates of occupation and liberation, the units that took part in the liberation, the corresponding operations, the assignment of honorary names to military units, the announcement of gratitude and fireworks in honor of the liberation.
