The winners of the championship for men and women received the right to represent Canada as its male and female junior national teams at the 2014 World Junior Championships .

The men's and women's tournaments were attended by 14 teams representing the provinces and territories of Canada .

In the men's tournament, the champion (8th time in the history of the championships) was the team representing the province of Manitoba ( Skip Braden Calvert became the champion for the 1st time both as a skip and as a player), who won in the final against the team representing the province of New Brunswick (Skip René Comeau). The bronze medal was won by a team representing the province of Alberta (Skip Carter Lautner).

In the women's tournament, the champion representing the province of Alberta became the champion (7th time in the history of the championships) ( skip Kelsey Rock became the champion for the 1st time both as a skip and as a player), having won in the final against the team representing the province of British Columbia ( Skip Kalia Van Osch). The team representing the province of Nova Scotia (Mary Fay skip) won bronze medals.

Event Format

The tournament consists of two stages - a group stage and a playoff stage . The group stage, in turn, consists of two stages of selection. At the first stage ( English Round Robin ) teams are divided into two groups and play each other in a circular system in one circle.

Four best teams enter the second stage ( English Championship Pool ), where 8 teams in the same group play each other in a circular system in one circle; however, the results of team meetings in the 1st stage are counted; The final placement of teams in places is determined by their results in both stages.

The three best teams go to the second stage, playoffs , where they play according to the incomplete Olympic system : first, the 2nd and 3rd teams meet in the semifinal, the winner of the semifinal meets in the finals with the 1st team.

Teams that took places below the 4th at the first stage, for the final distribution of places from 9th to 14th between them, play a classification drawing ( English Seeding Pool ) among themselves in a circular system in one circle; the results of their meetings with each other at the 1st stage are taken into account, and the placement in places is determined by the total result at the 1st stage and in the classification draw.

Matches start time is indicated in UTC-4 .
