The regiment is deployed in the city of Chebarkul, Chelyabinsk region. It is part of the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District. In the period 1945-1997 was part of the 6th Guards Motor Rifle Division (in the period 1985-1997 - the division was the 90th Guards Tank Division).

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the formation was the 285th mortar regiment of the 5th Guards Mechanized Corps . The 400th regiment inherits the honorary name, combat banner, awards, historical form and military glory of the 285th mortar regiment. [1] [2] The 285th mortar regiment was created in 1943 [3] .

On June 24, 1945, the regiment transferred from the 5th Guards Mechanized Division to the 6th Guards Mechanized Division . [4] During the deployment in the territory of the GDR , the regiment was stationed in Bernau . [five]

It was disbanded in 1997 along with the 90th Guards Tank Division .

In 2018, he was revived as part of the 90th Guards Tank Division . [2] [6]

Armament and military equipment

In recent years, deployed in the GDR, the regiment was armed with: 54 2С3 , 18 Grad , 5 PRP-3 / -4 , 3 1В18 , 1 1В19 , 1 Р-145БМ , 1 Р-156БТР . [7]
