Lauren Alfonso Dominguez ( Azeri. Loren Alfonso Dominges ) is an Azerbaijani boxer of Cuban origin, performing in the light heavyweight category, winner of the European Games of 2019 in Minsk .

Biography
Lauren Alfonso Dominguez was born on May 28, 1995 in Cuba. He grew up in a poor family. In his homeland Dominguez was the third number, and then only because the athlete, who was considered the number two, more participated in the competition. However, Dominguez never lost to him in battles [1] .
In January 2017, Alfonso Dominguez took part in the Azerbaijan Championship, but his performance turned into a scandal and as a result, Dominguez could not even reach the final, where Rauf Ragimov and Eldar Guliyev performed. However, after the Olympic medalist and winner of the 2015 European Games in the weight category up to 81 kg, Teymur Mamedov completed his career, no one took his place in the national team. In November 2018, Cuban Alfonso Dominguez was recruited into the national team of Azerbaijan and began to play for the Gabala club [2] .
Dominguez explained his transition to the Azerbaijani national team by the fact that Cuba has very high competition. In an interview he stated:
| They will only take you to competitions if you are number one. The second, third numbers in the team remain overboard. But not everyone can even become the second and third in Cuba. For this reason, not only me, but many strong boxers have to leave Liberty Island ... [1] |
According to Dominguez, the relatively high salary of boxers in Azerbaijan compared to Cuba also contributed to his transition [1] .
In April 2019, Dominguez won the silver medal of the traditional international boxing tournament “The Great Silk Road”, which was held in Baku [3] .
In 2019, Dominguez won the II European Games in Minsk. In the 1/16 finals he won Stepan Grekul from Ukraine with a score of 3: 0 [4] . In the 1/18 finals, Mikhail Daugaliavets won from Belarus, and in the quarterfinals - Belgian Ziad El Mohor with a score of 5: 0 [5] . Having won in the semifinals of the Italian Simone Fiore with a score of 4: 1, Lauren Alfonso Dominguez reached the final of the European Games [6] . In the final, Dominguez defeated Benjamin Wittakerem from the UK with a score of 3: 2 and won the gold medal [7] .
In addition to boxing, Dominguez enjoys music and singing. In his free time, when training is not planned, he sings in restaurants [1] .
Personal life
Alfonso Dominguez has a daughter, as well as a beloved woman, a Cuban woman of origin, who lives in Germany [1] .
