Biography

As a junior schoolchild in 1984, Zhenya was selected as a teacher who came to Ashgabat from the Leningrad Choreographic School named after Vaganova . In 1992, he graduated from the Academy of Russian Ballet. A. Ya. Vaganova (Valentin Onoshko's class) and was accepted into the troupe of the Mariinsky Theater [1] . A tall, elegant artist with excellent academic dance skills who was still a student in theater performances (Puppet Fairy, for example), he was soon seen and engaged in lyrical and dramatic parties as a soloist. Among his stage partners:
Maria Alexandrova , Maria Allash , Diana Vishneva , Angelina Vorontsova , Sofia Gumerova, Nina Kaptsova , Ekaterina Kondaurova , Ulyana Lopatkina , Julia Makhalina , Olesya Novikova, Evgeniya Obraztsova , Ekaterina Osmolkina, Oksana Skorik , Alina Somova , Victoria Teryakina .
The permanent choreographer-tutor of the artist is Gennady Selyutsky . Since 2008, Ivanchenko has been the premiere of a ballet troupe.

He has toured to the UK [2] [3] , Germany, Holland, Greece, Italy, Canada, China, Norway, the USA [4] , South Korea, as well as to neighboring countries: to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan [5] , Uzbekistan [6] , Ukraine.

The prime minister, undoubtedly, deserved the medal “For diligence” - today he is the most useful dancer of the troupe, with equal interest coming out in the parties of princes, noble persons and commoners. Mr. Ivanchenko, who began the 22nd season of theatrical service, has demonstrated the meritorious qualities of an excellent partner over the past decade. His hand doesn’t flinch on any support, the ballerina doesn’t get off the axis, makes the planned number of revolutions, and Mr. Ivanchenko, imperceptibly “twisting” his partner, will add a couple more rounds to the total number.

- Olga Fedorchenko, Kommersant St. Petersburg, No. 180, 2014 [7]

Over the past twenty years, Eugene Ivanchenko has become the embodiment of the prince's Leningrad ideal. His nobility is absolutely natural, his attention and involvement in the role seem to be programmed manners, as if he lives on with these ballet - and human - reliable rules and words. And while it has a lot of softness.

- Alexey Lepork, “Knights of the Dance”, 2015 [8]

In 2015, he participated in the project “Knights of the Dance” [9] together with Igor Kolb and Danila Korsuntsev .

In 2016, he performed at the XXIX International Festival of Classical Ballet named after Rudolf Nureyev in Kazan [10] and the First International Far Eastern Festival “Mariinsky” [11] . In 2017 - at the Sobinovsky Festival [12] and the XVII Festival of Classical Ballet named after Alla Shelest in Samara [13] .

In 2018, he took part in “Dance. Dance Dance ”on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater [14] [15] - a dance project of modern choreography:“ The production of Emil Faski “Cold and Hot” - Evgeny Ivanchenko’s duet with the prima of the Mariinsky Ballet Oksana Skorik is a mystery ballet where there is an avalanche of various feelings and emotions turns into a hypnotic plastic fantasy ” [16] .

... he is unusually cold-blooded on stage, you know how it captivates? He is restrained in the audience, even when any disputes arise, he is completely calm. In life the same. Therefore, it is so pleasant to dance with him - his hands never tremble, he keeps himself calm and measured on the stage, but at the same time, when you give him some kind of emotion, look, he always answers them, looks into his eyes ...

- Oksana Skorik , “Beatrice Magazine”, 2018 [17]

Partnership with Volochkova

A friend of A. Volochkova from the Mariinsky Theater , in view of his physical data, Eugene regularly danced with Anastasia in the Bolshoi’s performances for two years from the beginning of the 2000s [18] (only once did the Danish Kenneth replace him with Basil in Don Quixote) Mane ) [19] . The couple also had foreign tours [20] [21] . At ballet forums and in the press, voices were heard more and more often that the ballerina “danced” Ivanchenko [22] . In September 2003, at the time of an active confrontation between Volochkova and the Bolshoi Theater Directorate, the world press wrote about this:

For most of the past few years she has been dancing with Eugene Ivanchenko, but he suddenly disappeared from sight after they performed Giselle twice in Greece in late August. Referring to the injury, he severed his ties with the Bolshoi.

- Peter Baker, The Washington Post , September 2003 [23]

Before the start of the 2003/2004 season, General Director Anatoly Iksanov announced the departure of Ivanchenko from the Bolshoi [24] . Later, in an interview with Rossiiskaya Gazeta , the artist confirmed the fact of filing such a statement [25] .
Nevertheless, their partnership continued for several more years, already outside the walls of the Bolshoi [26] [27] .
