Viktor Nikolayevich Zorkin (born July 20, 1951 ) - Colonel of the KGB of the USSR , commander of the 12th branch ( Alma-Ata ) of Group A of the Seventh Directorate of the KGB of the USSR (now special unit Alpha ). At present, he is engaged in entrepreneurial activities: the administrative director of Uralchemical Chemical and Chemical Combine JSC and a member of the board of directors of Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant OJSC [1] .

Biography
Military Detectiveness
He graduated from the Moscow Higher Border Command School of the KGB in 1972, the Higher School of the KGB of the USSR [1] . He served in military counterintelligence and group “A” of the Seventh Directorate of the KGB of the USSR, also known as “Alpha” [2] .
From February to July 1981, Zorkin served as the head of a detachment from group “A” of 15 people in the detachment “ Cascade -2” in Afghanistan . His group provided force cover for search operations, collected information on Dushman detachments in the vicinity of Kabul , seized weapons from hiding places and ensured the safety of campaign groups. Carried out the protection of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador F. A. Tabeev [3] [2] . In January 1983, his detachment defeated the gang of Mujahideen Kal-Kudduz: a detachment of 70 to 100 people was ambushed by the Alfovites, losing seven to eight people in the first moments of the battle, and then was completely defeated; the leader of the gang was arrested and taken to Moscow [4] . On September 20, 1986, Group A participated in the release of the hostages captured by three deserters on the Tu-134 aircraft, and Zorkin commanded the assault [3] .
From April 1990 to 1991, Zorkin commanded the 12th group of Alpha, the headquarters of the group was located in Alma-Ata [2] . After the collapse of the USSR, he served in the Main Directorate of Security of the Russian Federation and the Security Service of the President of the Russian Federation . Retired with the rank of colonel, held the post of deputy head of the Security Service of the President of the Russian Federation at the time of his dismissal. He was awarded two orders of the Red Star and medals. Married [5] [1] .
Entrepreneur
After his resignation, Zorkin worked in the Security Department of Mosbusinessbank (1997-1998) and the Security Department of one of the Lukoil divisions (1998-2000). In February 2001, he was appointed vice president and general director of the Association of Veterans and Employees of the Presidential Security Services [1] , whose president was A. V. Korzhakov [2] .

- 2005-2007: Deputy General Director for Administrative Work and Director of the Administrative Department of Constructive Bureau LLC
- 2007 — present: administrative director of LLC (later OJSC) Uralchem Asset Management
- 2008 — present: member of the board of directors of JSC Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant
