As a graveyard, lands are mentioned in the first half of the 17th century in the scribal book of Kirill Vorontsov-Veliaminov (1629-1630). [1] According to the salary book of the Staroryazan tithe at the Assumption Church, Courche shows: “the courtyard of the widow priest Eusebius Borisov with the children Ivashka and Aleshka, the clerk and the mallow and the sexton. Church arable land ten quarters in the field, in two heirs, twenty hay hay. In the parish of that church: two landowner courtyards and the estate yard, and fifty different courtyards in different villages, and nine Bobyl yards. And according to the salary of that church of tribute to pay a ruble thirteen altyn. And according to the new salary, one Altyn 3 money arrived before the previous tributes. ” [2] The church of the village of Kursha had a rich history, in 1752 the dilapidated building was demolished, a new wooden Assumption Church was built in the same place. On March 12, 1800, the church with all its property and bells burned down. Instead of a burned-out one in 1802, a new one with Pyatnitsky chapel was built. In 1853, a warm chapel was arranged in it in honor of St. Apostles Peter and Paul, and in 1860 the Epiphany chapel. In 1860 and 1881, the church and chapels were rebuilt again, the bell tower was rebuilt, and a fence was built around the church. [3]
In the mid-19th century, the village belonged to Field Marshal Prince Pyotr Mikhailovich Volkonsky , who owned 27 thousand acres of land here. Granddaughter of Field Marshal Princess Elisaveta Grigoryevna Volkonskaya exchanged a forest cottage for the state lands of Borisoglebsky Uyezd in the Tambov province. [3]
In addition to the village of Kurshi, the parish included villages: Istomina (Vetchany), Ivanovskaya (Ivankovo), Kultutskaya (Kultuki), Sergeevskaya (Sergeevka) and Akulova (Akulovo). In the parish in the state of 1873, 1 priest, deacon and 2 psalm-goers were laid. Decree of sv. The Synod of October 20, 1881, No. 3994, opened the vacancy of the second priest. In 1883, the church walls were decorated with paintings. In 1886, the iconostases in the cold were gilded, the iconostases in the meal were redone and gilded. [3] In Soviet times, services continued, but in 1949 the church burned down. According to residents of the neighboring villages of Kultuki and Vetchan, lightning fell on the cross, which caused a fire. After that, the last residents left the village.
