Leck mich im arsch

Leck mich im Arsch ( Laßt froh uns sein, Lizni my anus ) - canon for 6 voices in B flat major K.231 / 382c, one of six canons written by Mozart in 1782 in Vienna [1] . Intended for six-voice performance with friends at friendly parties, published after Mozart’s death as his widow.

The first line of the text of the canon, Leck mich im Arsch - “Lick my anus” - vulgarism , probably first appeared in German literature in the drama Goethe Goetz von Berlichingen , published in 1773; With these words, Goetz answers the emperor's messenger.

The publishers Brightkopf and Hartel, to whom the widow of Mozart handed over the manuscripts of canons in 1799, published a canon under the softened name Laßt froh uns sein (“Rejoice!”).

Lasst froh uns sein!
Murren ist vergebens!
Knurren, Brummen ist vergebens,
