Content
History
In the "List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire", published in 1879, the settlement is mentioned as the village of Kargopol Uyezd (1st camp), at Lake Lacha, located 37 miles from the county town of Kargopol . The village had 22 yards and 130 people (62 men and 62 women). The Orthodox Church acted [2] .
According to 1905, there were 32 houses and 213 people (108 men and 105 women). Administratively, the village was part of the Nokol society of the Kalitinsky volost. There were 21 horses, 42 cows and 96 heads of other livestock [3] .
Geography
The village is located in the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk region, in the southern zone of the middle taiga [4] , on the southeastern shore of Lake Lacha , at a distance of about 30 kilometers (in a straight line) south of the city of Kargopol, the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 131 meters above sea level [5] .
