The stadium underwent its first reconstruction in the late 1980s; the tracks were brought into line with European requirements.
After the second reconstruction of the track, which began in 2006, it is assumed that a hotel complex for guest teams will be built. It is planned to install a collapsible stage, allowing concerts. A special press center for journalists will appear. A canopy will be installed above the stands to protect spectators from precipitation. The total reconstruction budget is approximately 750 million rubles [2] .
In 2005, the stadium for the first time in Russia hosted the European Cup final .
On August 23, 2009, the stadium hosted the finals of the Personal European Speedway Championship .
In 2010, the stadium was given the name "Anatoly Stepanov Sports and Technical Complex" in honor of the deceased president of the Mega-Lada club, a deputy of the Samara Provincial Duma.
The track commission of the International Motorcycle Federation, summing up the 2010 season, assigned the Anatoly Stepanov Sports and Technical Complex the highest rating on the track classification system - class “A”. A similar rating received only 4 tracks in the world. [3]
STK them. A. Stepanova is one of the candidates for the stage of the speedway Grand Prix ( Personal World Speedway Championship ). The implementation is hindered by the relatively low, according to the organizers and owners of the rights to the Grand Prix, the popularity of speedway in Russia and, as a result, the lack of serious sponsors who can finance a world-class competition.

The tracks of the track are covered with a granite crumb layer of 30 cm. The total length of the track is 353 meters, the width of the lines is 11 meters, the turns are 16 meters, which allows only four riders to be safely entered into the race.
The inner turning radius is 31 meters, the outer - 42 meters.
In the center of the track, the only special children's track in Russia, 130 meters long, is laid.
The nominal capacity of the stadium after reconstruction is 15,000 spectators. In the newly rebuilt stands installed plastic chairs. There is a superior room, as well as a VIP grandstand.
