Protostars are stars at the final stage of their formation, right up to the moment of fusion of thermonuclear reactions in the core, after which the compression of the protostar ceases and it becomes the star of the main sequence .
Protostar usually have dusty shells, thanks to which they are powerful sources of infrared radiation . Small-mass protostar is often observed as flare stars.
