Biography

Fedor Raysky was born in 1788, a native of the clergy; by origin the Great Russian. Educated at the Tula Theological Seminary and in 1814-1818. - at the Moscow Theological Academy [2] .

At the end of the academic course with a candidate’s degree, Fyodor Raysky, on August 27, 1818, entered the Tambov Theological Seminary as a teacher and consistently held the post of librarian , inspector and rector of the schools under his seminary [2] .

On December 31, 1818, he was tonsured a monk with the name of Filaret , on January 1, 1819 he was ordained a hierodeacon , and on January 5, at a hieromonk . In the holy order, he became famous as a preacher [2] .

On August 21, 1822 he was appointed archimandrite of the Tregulyaev Predtechev Monastery , the Tambov diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church [2] .

On October 8, 1824, shortly before his death, he was transferred to the city of Tobolsk as rector of the Tobolsk Theological Seminary and archimandrite of the Tobolsk Znamensky Monastery [2] .

Filaret of Paradise died on March 5, 1825 in the monastery entrusted to him; speech over the tomb of the Archbishop of Tobolsk Ambrose Rozhdestvensky-Veshchezerov [3] [2] [4]
