Biography
Born in the family of a businessman. Graduated from the University of Malta . From a youth engaged in active political activity. Arrested by authorities.
She was a journalist for the Times of Malta daily.
The subject of her investigative journalism was government corruption, nepotism , racketeering , money laundering allegations, links between Malta's gambling industry and organized crime.
She was known for publications on the subject of Panamanian documents [2] . In 2016, she accused the country's prime minister , Joseph Muscat , that he and his wife used offshore bank accounts to withhold payments from companies associated with the family of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev .
Recently, she was interested in the involvement of Maltese politicians in the Libyan-Italian scam related to the smuggling of diesel fuel. Most likely, Libyan traffickers and members of the Sicilian mafia were involved in fuel smuggling operations.
On October 16, she left home in the village of Bidnia, and after a few seconds an explosion thundered. She died on the spot as a result of the explosion of a bomb planted in her car. The representative of the country's authorities said that the explosive device that caused the death of Galicia was attached under her car and was remotely actuated using a mobile phone.
The public was outraged by the murder of a journalist. The government of Malta announced a reward of € 1 million for information that will help identify those responsible for the death of a journalist.
